AXIS 243Q Overview

The AXIS 243Q (0261-001) blade video server can provide four analog cameras with their own IP addresses, all from this one device. A rack-mounted solution for integrating analog devices into existing IP networks, it also provides control over the camera’s advanced features. The AXIS 243Q blade video server supports multiple video codecs and allows full frame rate on each of its four channels simultaneously. The device also includes advanced network management features that make it suitable for use in the most high-security situations. Combined with the AXIS 291 1U Video Server Rack, it provides a hot-swappable solution for the most advanced networks.

The AXIS 243Q blade video server de-interlaces analog video and converts it to high-quality video images. The device can deliver video at 4CIF resolution at 30 frames per second on an NTSC system and at 25 frames per second on a PAL system. It also provides advanced network security protocols, such as HTTPs encryption, multi-level user access and IP address filtering. IEEE 802.1x authentication is also supported. The AXIS 243Q blade video server supports Quality of Service (QoS), allowing it to be integrated into networks where bandwidth is strictly managed.

The AXIS 243Q blade video server can take control of the advanced features on analog cameras, such as pan, tilt and zoom. It is also compatible with dome cameras. Most of the major manufacturers are found among the over 25 different cameras supported by the device.
