The AXIS M1011 (0302-004) network camera is the smallest security camera produced by AXIS Communications. This device is ideal for monitoring in areas where the environment cannot be overwhelmed by large security cameras. This makes it a perfect choice for boutiques, retail stores and restaurants where security is needed but where intrusive, large devices would not be suitable. It has powerful features built into its small frame, allowing for professional-quality monitoring of the area where the AXIS M1011 network camera is installed. The AXIS M1011 network camera supports multiple codecs. The camera can be set to record at MPEG-4 Part 2, which provides good quality video and high compression. Motion JPEG is provided for flexibility. The H.264 codec allows excellent compression and very high image quality. H.264 can reduce bandwidth and storage usage by up to 80% over other codecs. The AXIS M1011 network camera uses progressive scan technology. This allows the camera to capture even fast motion with great clarity compared to interlaced video. The device is also able to reduce bandwidth usage to accommodate increased efficiency. Recording in full VGA resolution, the AXIS M1011 network camera provides images that are suitable for close examination. The device supports advanced network protocols where security is concerned, including HTTPs Encryption. The camera comes with an open Application Programming Interface (API) and VAPIX from AXIS Communications. It also supports Quality of Service (QoS) to maximize network efficiency.
