AXIS Q7404 Overview
The AXIS Q7404 (0291-004) video encoder can provide a connection to an existing IP network for four separate analog cameras. Provided with the capability to control their advanced functions and with compatibility with over 25 different analog camera models, the AXIS Q7404 video encoder allows you to make the most of your analog devices on your digital network. It supports advanced video compression that reduces network bandwidth usage while providing crisp images. It can also be attached to external devices, increasing the flexibility of the system.
The AXIS Q7404 video encoder uses the H.264 compression codec, as well as the MPEG-4 compression codec. H.264 allows for significant bandwidth reduction while still delivering very high-quality images. Motion JPEG codec support ensures that the device is flexible enough to be used on most networks. The device can stream two separate streams on each of its four channels, with each stream capable of being independently configured for frame rate and quality. The device is compatible with PTZ analog cameras.
The AXIS Q7404 video encoder also supports two-way audio communications, allowing the operator to speak with or give directions to anyone in the area being monitored. It can be provided with custom applications via the open Application Programming Interface. The AXIS Q7404 video encoder also includes motion detection and audio detection, as well as tamper detection capabilities. The AXIS Q7404 video encoder includes RS-485 and RS-488 serial ports for control.
