• VSS Standard – option for medium scale, under 128 cameras. Comes with 8 free licenses for Vivotek cameras only. For example, if you have 4 Vivotek Cameras and 28 non-Vivotek cameras, you need to purchase 28 VSS Standard Licenses.
• VSS Professional – large scale user with needs for failover and TV matrix. Does NOT come with any licenses included. Need to purchase VSS Pro Licenses or upgrade Licenses from VSS Standard.

Do you plan to keep your videos in Linux desktop NVR or Windows server?

If you only have Linux desktop NVR, pick VSS Standard for the most economical option.

If you have both Linux desktop NVR and Windows server, select VSS Professional is recommended for managing up to 700 substations.
